The Esani Institute - A Paul Mitchell Partner School How We Give Back
"Service is the rent you pay for room on this earth." — Shirley Chisholm
In the past five years, Paul Mitchell Schools have donated their time and more than $2.5 million in support of many charitable causes. In conjunction with our own nonprofit organization, the Andrew Gomez Dream Foundation, we’ve built two homes through Habitat for Humanity; fed thousands of African orphans; provided resources for caregivers through the Leeza Gibbons Memory Foundation; provided hair care services for the poor and homeless; helped beauty industry professionals in the wake of natural disasters; and supported the victims of AIDS, breast cancer, homelessness, domestic abuse, and hundreds of other causes, to name just a few.
"People in need are not just those who line up at a soup kitchen on Thanksgiving Day," says Dean and Cofounder Winn Claybaugh. "At Paul Mitchell Schools, giving back is an ongoing attitude about how we do business."
John Paul Mitchell Systems Chairman and CEO John Paul DeJoria adds, "It’s about each of us paying more than our share of rent on this planet in order to help many people have much better lives or even have the chance to live one. What a great culture that is!"

Paul Mitchell Schools 2009 FUNraising CampaignMagic of Memories
At every Paul Mitchell school we embrace as one of our core values a practice that we call “creating magic.” Simply put, creating magic means making a positive difference in the lives of others in ways both great and small.
One of the big ways we make a difference each and every year is through our annual Paul Mitchell School fundraising campaign. Over the past four years Paul Mitchell schools have raised and donated over $1.4 million to charitable foundations that help millions of people across the country and around the world. HELP US CREATE MAGIC! There are three different ways you can help us make a difference: 1. Make a donation by clicking "Donate" and giving whatever you can or download the PDF Donation Form. 2. Support our fundraising activities. See Paul Mitchell Cut-a-Thon and The Esani Institute Art Auction. 3. If you are a business, please visit us at Business With A Heart Program and make a statement! Download Donation Form - Click Here Until April 25, 2009 we are sponsoring fundraising activities and accepting donations to support the following charitable foundations: FOOD 4 AFRICA strives to supply at least one vitamin-enriched meal each day to children of South Africa, where more than a million preschool children do not receive sufficient food. THE LARRY KING CARDIAC FOUNDATION provides funding for lifesaving treatment for individuals who, due to limited means or no insurance, would otherwise be unable to receive the treatment and care they so desperately need. THE LEEZA GIBBONS MEMORY FOUNDATION provides vital education, empowerment and energy programming to an ever-growing population of family caregivers and resources for those diagnosed with chronic memory disorders. THE ANDREW GOMEZ DREAM FOUNDATION provides new salon professionals with educational experiences they probably would not otherwise have and helps disadvantaged or hard-hit cosmetologists and cosmetology-related enterprises. PANCREATIC CANCER ACTION NETWORK is a nationwide network of people dedicated to working together to advance research, support patients, and create hope for those affected by pancreatic cancer. CANCER SCHMANCER MOVEMENT, founded by Fran Drescher is dedicated to ensuring that all women’s cancers are diagnosed in stage 1 through education, prevention, and policy change. CITY OF HOPE is an independent biomedical research, treatment, and education center dedicated to preventing and curing cancer and other life-threatening diseases. |
